Jamie's Bio: Jamie Shawn Tan is a professional actor from Singapore and has been in numerous TV Commercials, dramas, sitcoms, short films and stage productions in Singapore. He has also done some animation voiceover work and greatly enjoys creating a repertoire of character voices. Amongst youngsters in Singapore, Jamie is most famous as "Dr Imagination" - a comically evil scientist from the hit children's TV series, "The Adventures of Super Einstein". Jamie has lived in New York City and in the US for the past 2 years. After recently graduating from the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute in New York, Jamie is now embarking on a new chapter in his acting career here in the US. Within the past 3 months following his graduation from the Lee Strasberg Institute, Jamie made his improvisational acting debut with The Urban Chase Group in Harlem. He also played "Root", one of Robin Hood's merrymen in "Robin Hood - One for All" - a children's production staged by the Ryan Repertory Company at the Harry Warren Theater in Brooklyn, NY. Jamie's most recent lead role was that of "Rooster Hannigan" in "Annie, Minus the Orphans" - a short, off-broadway stage adaptation of Orphan Annie at The Producers Club. Jamie's has also recently been accepted as a member of The Actor's Project NYC - "a unique theatre company dedicated to assisting members...get work through quality industry showcases and quality original plays." Apart from acting, Jamie is also a qualified ESL Teacher and has taught Speech and Drama to school children from the ages of 3 to 16 years at Act 3 INTERNATIONAL in Singapore.
